Readings in Schools

Happy World Book Day to everybody! Fiona is off to read to Key Stage 1 children at Milecastle Primary School this afternoon. If anyone has connections in other schools in the North East region (of England), do drop us a line. We have all three of the Young David Books on powerpoint so it’s a good visual display. All three books together take 30 minutes. The books were designed to be read out loud and they really come to life this way.

Art Exhibition for Young David Books

Please join us at the preview of a new art exhibition for the Young David Picturebook Series.

The exhibition will be of Amy Barnes’ original watercolours for the three books in the Young David Picturebook series so far: David and the Hairy Beast, David and the Kingmaker and David and the Giant as well as the work in progress on our next book, David and the Lonely Prince. Illustrator Amy and author Fiona Veitch Smith will be there to sign copies and talk about the books and there will be free cheese ‘n wine. Yes that’s right – free!

So if you have plans, cancel them, or risk missing the art exhibition of the year! (Well if we’re not going to talk it up, who will?)

Reading at summer market

Fiona will be doing a reading of David & the Giant at the Made in Newcastle Summer Market at Trinity Church Cafe, Gosforth High St. on Saturday. You’ll find her at the children’s craft corner doing readings at 12 noon and 2pm. Between then she’ll be signing copies of the book.
